Tim Hald – KajuKido Black Belt – 7/9/16

Congratulations to Tim Hald on receiving his 1st Degree Black Belt in KajuKido! There are a number of things to say about this particular advancement.  First and foremost, Tim did a great job.  His dedication to learning this Art, the time and energy he has put into practicing, and his commitment to our dojo is inspiring.  This is quite a milestone for him. Tim .. thanks and congrats!

Tim’s advancement is also a milestone for our dojo.  He is the first student to earn his Black Belt in the dojo … and is also the first KajuKido Black Belt. That is particularly special for me because it in some way validates, or cements in place, the Art of KajuKido. Also of special note, along the way, Tim and Mark Abdo have been so instrumental in helping Keith and I tease out the remaining fine points in the techniques of this Art.  After all, no one has gone through them before.  So, I feel like we now have a solid curriculum for those who follow.  Thank you both.

Finally, I very special thanks  to Keith Hergenhahn.  He has spent numerous hours with Tim in private lessons to help Tim prepare for this accomplishment.  There is no way Tim could have pulled this off without him.  I want to take the opportunity to also express my deeply, heartfelt, gratitude to Keith.  We wouldn’t have the dojo that we have without him. His contribution to every single one of our students, his being a sounding board for me regarding the techniques and/or dojo management decisions, his covering for me when I can’t be there… I can’t say enough about what all of that means to me.  So … many thanks Keith!
